This is the kind of thing that has happened to people.
But the truth is that most of us are in a state of constant, debilitating anxiety and fear.
When you’re on the clock, you’re worried about the next appointment, the next meeting, the new boss.
You’re worried that your boss won’t like your resume.
You are constantly on guard against losing a job, and the only way to calm that is to think of it as a win-win.
So, when you’re out of work, when there’s a deadline looming and you’re wondering if you can go back to your job, or whether you’ll have to move out, or if you’ll get fired, the first thing that comes to mind is “I don’t want to go back.”
You don’t think that’s going to be a problem.
The job is awesome.
So, even though you don’t know exactly what’s going on in your head, you know you’re not happy and you don,t want to be.
That’s the moment when you start to panic.
It’s like the adrenaline rush that comes with the job.
The anxiety is a rush of adrenaline.
You think, “I’m going to get the job done, so this is going to make it so I can get back to my job.”
You’re scared.
You feel bad.
You worry about your boss.
You’re afraid that you might not get the right job.
You have to remind yourself that the job is good and you should get it.
And you can do that in the moment, but when you get to the end of the day, you start thinking about the future and what you can’t control, or what you might miss out on.
It gets you in the zone.
So the question becomes: How do you deal with this?
How do I avoid panic?
I try to not get anxious.
But I do need to remind myself: “It’s not the end.
I’m not done yet.
I can do this.
This is how I’m going get this done.
It is how it’s going.”
If you can, you have to take a deep breath and try to calm yourself.
If you can control the panic, it’s manageable.
You can just keep going, and keep on going.
If it’s too much, it can make things worse.
You’ve got to stop, and you have the ability to think and do things in a calm, controlled way.
And then you start planning.
I think one of the hardest things to do is to say, “You know what?
I’m actually doing this.”
And I’m thinking, “Yeah, I’m trying.
But what I’m doing is not a good plan.”
So, I just start asking myself, “What’s the best way to go about doing this?”
And the first way I try to do that is by asking myself “What is the best thing I can say to my family?
What’s the most helpful thing I could say to someone else?
What are the most positive things that I can tell someone?
How can I make it better for them?”
Because if you don of these things, you’ll start to think, Why am I still going through this?
It’s a lot harder to change your life if you have no direction.
So that’s my advice: You have so much to do.
Just start doing something, and then start thinking.
When I first started my job, my manager said, “Do you have a plan for when you can come back?”
I was like, “Uh, no, I have a contingency plan.”
And he said, I can’t see that coming.
But it was like an insurance policy, he said.
And it was very important that I had a plan.
If I didn’t have a backup plan, I would have been able to get rid of the panic.
Because you need to have a way to deal with that.
So I said, OK, what if we take a step back and say, what is the worst thing that can happen to me?
That’s what I wanted to do in my first few weeks.
And what I found was that I could not do that because I was in a constant state of anxiety.
That anxiety was a lot bigger than the fear of losing my job.
I could feel it.
I couldn’t take it.
So my main concern was getting through the day.
I needed to relax and take my mind off things.
So when I was out of the office, I took a couple of days off.
But when I got back, I started going back to work, and I started focusing on making sure that I was working well, that I wasn’t stressed.
And then I started taking care of my body.
I was able to relax a little bit.
And I started to feel better.
I felt better.
It was kind of a blessing, because it was a huge relief for me.I
