A developer and company behind a $3 billion project to replace the city’s historic Capitol building said Tuesday that construction on the $300 million project will start later this year.
State Rep. Mike Gallagher said he expects construction to begin in the fall.
It will take about two years to complete, Gallagher said, noting that it is unlikely the city would allow the office to be opened in 2019.
He also said the project will not include the $100 million planned for a massive parking garage.
