Trump is demolishing his own Trump Tower in New York City after it was previously designed by architect Frank Gehry, and is replacing it with an office building that will house a new technology company.
Trump announced the plan Wednesday, saying the tower, which sits at the base of the Empire State Building, will be replaced by a 20-story office building called the Dose Tower.
The building will be the first of its kind in the U.S.
Trump said he hopes to have the office building completed by 2020.
“It is a great project,” Trump said.
“Frank Gehry designed it and the plan is a fantastic plan.”
The project was first announced in September, and was supposed to be finished in 2018.
The Trump Organization is also renovating a hotel near the project site that was designed by architects Foster + Partners.
