The New York Islanders and the New York Red Wings are two teams that can’t seem to get past each other in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Now it appears that the Islanders and Wings will face off for Game 7 in New York on Wednesday night.
The Isles are down 3-1 after two straight wins.
The Red Wings have lost five straight and seven of nine.
“We’re not a team that has a great track record of losing in the playoffs,” said Benning, who said the Islanders will have a full team on hand to help out on the ice.
I know the Red Wings were very confident going into the game, and I think that we’ll get a lot of good momentum going into this one.
While the Islanders might be able to take this series on the chin, the Wings could find themselves in a bit of a fight with the Isles.
Detroit is 0-4-1 in its past eight playoff games, while the Isles are 2-1-0.
They are in the thick of a battle with Boston for the final playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division, while Toronto is on a six-game win streak after dropping the first two games of the series.
